ACCUSTIC ARTS® PLAYER IV – Our new digital TOP-Loader

The PLAYER IV is an absolutely top-class CD player and D/A converter and the successor of the famous PLAYER II – MK2. For the CD module, the new CD Pro-8 as the replacement of the legendary Philips CDPro2 finds application.

The important features of the PLAYER IV include 4 digital inputs (XLR, coaxial, optical and USB) and the USB input works according to the latest asynchronous DSD256 technology.

The PLAYER IV is not only a top class CD TOP Loader, but also an externally usable D / A converter, which has both a coaxial and an asynchronous USB input for HD audio and DSD. Via these inputs, e.g. a laptop, MAC or PC, but also another digital source device.

The heart of the PLAYER IV is the new CD Pro-8 transport, which has been embedded in a massive, resonance-optimized ALU block. The excellent sounding D / A converter used in the PLAYER II works on the sophisticated 32/384 upsampling principle. For optimal connection, the PLAYER IV therefore has symmetrical outputs.

PLAYER IV highlights

  • CD-Player and high-quality D/A converter in one unit
  • High precision 32 bit/384 kHz upsampling technology
  • The famous transport CD Pro-8, with outstanding sound characteristics:
    – Solid metal cast chassis with elaborate mechanical decoupling
    – Storage of the drive in a solid aluminum housing (so-called subchassis construction principle)
    – Fixed CD in the drive by means of precise puck with integrated magnet, made of chromed brass
  • Separate D/A conversion function through 4 digital inputs:
    2 x coaxial (RCA), 1 x optical and 1 x USB 2.0 (512 asynchronous)
  • Playback of various HD audio data (WAV, FLAC, ALAC, etc.) up to DSD 512 from a PC or laptop via USB interface
  • 2 separate, generously sized power supplies for laser control, digital signal processing, display control and D/A converter section
  • Very high power supply capacity
  • 2 x 25 VA toroidal core transformer of premium quality (“Made in Germany”) for a stable power supply
  • Spatial separation of analog and digital section within the D/A converter for best possible signal-to-noise ratio
  • Resonance minimising metal housing
  • Front panel made of microlized aluminum
  • Now again with a chrome medal on the front panel
